What to send us
Every sighting can help build a better picture of humpback whale use of North Coast waters. If you’ve seen or photographed a humpback in the region, we’d love to hear from you.
When submitting a sighting, please include as much of the following as you can:
When – date and approximate time of your sighting
Where – location, coordinates if available, or a description of where you were
What you saw – number of whales and any behaviours you observed
Photos or video – especially images showing the underside of the tail (fluke), dorsal fin, or other distinctive features
Anything else you noticed – feeding activity, other whales present, prey, unusual behaviour, or anything else that caught your attention
Don’t worry if you don’t have all of this information. Even a photo with an approximate date and location may be useful.
